Eggs could hatch soon!

Wow! Time has been flying. These eagles have faced several storms and by all accounts they have done well to protect their eggs from harsh weather. The eagle laid the first egg on March 8th...that means that eggs could begin to hatch as early as this weekend! Admittedly, it will likely be sometime next week but we'll have to keep a close eye on these birds...especially given the fact that they have afforded us only brief glimpses of the eggs over the past weeks!

Please keep watch and update us with your observations!

Until next time,

  1. Thanks for the update! My 50th birthday is Monday so I'm hoping for a hatching as a birthday present :-) Kim in NC.

  2. I'm looking at the current picture (12:38 p.m., 4/9/10), and don't know if it's me but it looks like the bird is sitting a little higher in the nest...maybe a hatch going on?

  4. The eggs could be pipping or even hatching at any time now, and the cam is not working. How very disappointing!

  5. Is it just my computer or does anyone else get a grey block over the top picture?

  6. Amelia , I sometimes see a gray block on the top or most often a partal gray rectangle on the lower part of the picture, BUT it goes away with the refresh, or close out and come back. Do you get 4 bright dots in the upper left edge of the gray block? I do. Very odd....like little eyes!

I haven't noticed the dots but I will check next time it happens!!

Does the eagle seem to be sitting a little higher this morning?

I am also having a problems with both gray block and all white. Hope the system can hang tight. Cannot wait for the hatching.

Hmmm ... my last post disappeared. Sorry if this is a repeat.

Seems as though the eagle is sitting a little higher this morning?

I am also having problems with the gray block and image going all white. Hopefully the system will hang in there for the hatching. Must be soon now!

  14. Just saw mom and pop at the nest. Looks to be just one egg. Still unable to see the chick as it blends in with nest.
