Immature Eagle Visit!
Hi All, as some of you may be aware we had an immature eagle visit the nest site today and devour a prey item. I can only guess at what the eagle was eating but it appeared to be a hearty feast. It is possible that this is one of the eagles that fledged from this nest earlier this year. Unfortunately, there is no way of knowing for certain. Below are a few more photos for you to relive this fascinating event. As you can see it was a beautiful day in Maine!
As usual, please keep in touch and enjoy BRIeaglecam2!
All the Best,

Wow!! Thanks so much Patrick - so cool to be on the spot for such a wonderful view. I was so curious to know if you thought it was this years chick (passage ?) or if it may be older. Thanks for being 'the man behind the curtain' wielding those controls for expert views! What a great afternoon it was.
ReplyDeleteHi, it seems likely that this could be a returning immature however we have observed as many as five (yes, five eagles) perched in this tree during the early spring. So, unfortunately we can't be sure. Yes, I was very pleased to be able to document this activity.
